IGNOU Management Program OPENMAT-XXX Admission Notification 2011

Indira Gandhi National Open University better known as IGNOU was established in the year 1985. Also known as “People’s University”, IGNOU offers a broad spectrum of courses at the bachelor’s, master’s, post graduate, under graduate diploma, and doctorate levels. The university also offers certificate courses. The university imparts education in the ODL or Open and Distance Learning Mode.

IGNOU has announced admission notification for OPENMAT XXX, an entrance examination that enables students to enroll into various management courses offered by the university.

OPENMAT-XXX will be held on August 21st 2011 between 10.00AM and 1.00PM in different examination centers across the country.

For procuring prospectus and registration form, a candidate can visit the office of the university in the following address – Registrar (SRD), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi – 110068. Forms are also available in different IGNOU regional centers. The cost of the application form is rupees 550.

Forms are also available on IGNOU website. Downloaded and filled in forms should be sent to the Registrar, SED, IGNOU Maidan Garhi, New Delhi -110068 along with rupees 550 bank draft. Completed application forms for OPENMAT- XXX along with the IPO or DD of rupees 550 has to reach IGNOU not later than July 15th 2011 if the candidate is sending the form by Speed post or Registered post. The last date for receipt of requests of application form by post was June 30th 2011.

• Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for admission into PGDIM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management), MBA (Master of Business Administration), DIM (Diploma in Management), and Post Graduate Diplomas in OM(Operations Management), FM (Financial Management), HRM (Human Resource Management), and MM (Marketing Management) is mentioned below.

* The candidates have to crack OPENMAT XXX. Admission depends on the score of the test

* Students who have qualified in CAT, State Level Tests, or MAT are not required to take OPENMAT XXX. However, the cut off percentage of such student will be decided by IGNOU.

* Graduates with 45% marks in any stream (Reserved category) and 50% in case of General category or

* Graduation with managerial, supervisory or professional experience or

* Master’s degree in any stream or,

* Professional qualification in Company Secretaryship, Cost and Works Accountancy, or Accountancy, or

* Professional qualification in Pharmacy, Law, Engineering, Architecture, Medicine, Technology, or

* Students who have not passed their graduation (10+2 students) but have 6 years or more experience in professional field, in managerial or supervisory capacity and have also cracked the OPENMAT-XXX are eligible to apply or Diploma in Management (DIM).

* No age limit

Students who qualify in the entrance examination (OPENMAT XXX) can enroll for classes that will commence January 2012 semester or July 2012 semester.

There are around 338 academic programs offered by the Indira Gandhi National Open University comprising more than 3500 courses. Currently there are more than 30 lakh student registered with IGNOU.

There are 43 regional centers, as many as 1400 study centers, and 6 sub regional centers. IGNOU imparts education in various courses through 21 Schools of Study.
