UPSC

The Union Public Service Commission is an autonomous entity that came into being on 26th of January 1950. Set up under Article 315 of the Constitution, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) advises the government on matters relating to framing recruitment rules, principles followed in making appointments, promotions and transfers from one service to another and on disciplinary matters affecting civil servants. The UPSC ensures that competent candidates are selected through a fair, transparent and objective process. The systems, procedures and methods for recruitment to the various services are constantly reviewed in order to nurture and utilise the best talent in the country.
